The answer is, NOTHING!

If you would ask me what I have learned from my Opinion writing class, I will tell you, NOTHING.
If you would ask me what I have learned from my Communication Research class, I will tell you, NOTHING.

I am not dumb. I may be a bit lazy sometimes but I am definitely not stupid.
I did not learn anything but its not my fault, and I am not rationalizing here.

What I know about both subjects I've learned from the various journalism seminars that the student publication conducts and from personal researches. What I know about Research, I've learned from my Basic Research and Methodology class in High School. I never learned anything from my college instructors on both subjects.

To be blunt about it, they never teach us anything. They are always absent and if not, they just sit in front of the class and tell stories that are not related to the topics that we are supposed to discuss. Attending these classes makes me sigh with regret. I wasted six units for both classes; six hours of boredom per week, and nothing to show for it.

I remember the times when we still have the best instructors that we could have; instructors who will move heaven and earth just to share their knowledge to us, instructors who gave us hell but also gave us the kind of training that will best prepare us for the real world. We literally shed blood, sweat and tears just to pass those subjects. Looking back, I could say that we were lucky that we did.

I saw the fruit of those labors during my one month On-the-job training in Mindanao. The training that I got from Sir Romy Amarado, Miss Bing Sitoy and Prof. Sandra Duran prepared me from the hardships that I encountered in Mindanao.

And now? They gave us instructors that are lazier than me. They gave us instructors who never taught us anything.

No sweat! And I mean that literally. I literally spent the whole school year lying in my bed, sleeping and or eating. A perfect life!

And now, here they are demanding that we pass the things that they required us to pass. What rights do they have to demand when they never gave anything at all? They are not even worthy to be called instructors. How can they be, when they never instructed us about anything?

I pity myself for having them. I pity my classmates for suffering with me. I pity the lower classes because they never get to experience the things that we did with our previous instructors.

So yes, I never learned anything in both classes. I have stated my reasons. Now, blame me if you want.
