oh, kilt?!

I know what a kilt looks like. I've encountered the word before. But until tonight I never really gave much thought on it. I mean, what's a kilt to me anyway?

As I was saying in my previous post, I am rereading the HP books and in one of it, the kilt was mentioned (HP4). Though I know what a kilt looks like, because I've seen the photos many times before, I searched for it in Google and the first thing that I've notice was a particular entry with the phrase, "what's under a kilt?"

Never asked that question before. I mean, I am not really aware about anything that has to do with kilts since I never really paid attention to it. So what I did was search the internet and I did found out some few things about it...not that ignorant anymore (I hope!).

So what's under a kilt?
Well, majority of the sites I've looked into says...NOTHING. Found it funny at first until I've read all the related articles and understood that it is part of their culture (is it right or shall I use "tradition" instead?) not to wear anything underneath it. As this ad goes...

I was even more surprised to know that the Scottish Military actually wear kilt as part of their tradition. I mean, the kilt is certainly a part of the Scottish tradition. I don't know if it is true but there was a post in one forum (which I happened to pass by as I tour around the cyberworld) saying that if a soldier is found wearing underwear under his kilt he will be punished.LOLZ. God! What if its winter? Aren't they scared of frostbites?

Why don't we try that here in the Philippines?(kidding!)
Imaginin kaya natin?...Filipino soldiers wearing kilts...uhm...uhm...hehehe...'wag na lang
...cute pero...hahahaha!

As I was browsing the net and because I got interested at the beautiful colors and designs of those kilts, I also found out what would happen if kilt suddenly meets wind. Hehehe. Try searching google images and search kilt. I mean, not only is "wind" the culprit of those funny pics but I think its also the inability of men to be modest. I mean, just imagine a man wearing a kilt (if you don't know how it looks just imagine a skirt) sitting open legged and I think you do get what I mean already. It is funny but I don't think they care.

Oh well...kilts looks nice though...and personally, I think kilt-wearing men are attractive...=)

BTW...here's a pic:
See? Even Prince Charles wears one...=)

Oh, thank you so much David.
I really like the designs and all. Good for the Scots to preserve this tradition.
