Anyway, I had been looking for some of my books the past few months. Sometimes I am tempted to disallow people from borrowing my books because they don't seem to know how to return them.
I don't know if those b0oks are totally lost or if they are just there gathering dust and waiting for me to retrieve them, which I had been trying to do for sometime now. Unfortunately, though I had been reminding those who borrowed my books many times already, none of the borrowers responded to my pleas. I had been asking them to return my books for sometime now and until now, nothing.
I miss my Hannibal book, my Vampire Chronicles, and all the others who were held hostage by some of my friends. I just wish their doing fine (the books--though I do care for my friends, I am more concerned of my books now because they are like newborn babies who can't take care of themselves while my friends are old enough to make their own babies). I am gripped with an unexplained fear every time I would remember that some of those hostaged books are my favorites and that I was lucky to buy them for less than P50 when their original prices ranges from P200-P400+.
I had been negotiating for the release of my babies for sometime now but their captors refuse to return them to me. Or shall I say, their "forgetful" minds refuse to remind them to return my babies to me.
I wish I could hold them back in my arms because I miss them so much already. I miss opening their pages and reading the words that give them life. I wish I could hold them again and be with them again. I wish those who borrowed them would be kind enough to return them to me in the same condition as when they were taken. Oh, I really do hope. So help me God.
