I'm not Catholic so I can't really be sure but I remembered when I was in the elementary, people would go out in the streets and throw water at each other or at the passing vehicles. But I am not sure if people still observe it that way until now.
Come to think of it, we Filipinos have really funny way of celebrating saints' days and other religious observances (i.e fiestas and such). I mean, look at what some of us does on innocence day (Dec. 28), St. John's day and so on. Sometimes I think Filipinos are a little bit weird.
Yeah, weird and funny.
