Aside from the fact that it was followed by a dry and boring summer, the summer of 2008 taught me a lot of things and allowed me to do the things I love the most--travelling, lakwatsa, mamundok, meet new people, and many more. (aw?)

And if there is one more activity I love the most, its going to mountains and remote places anywhere in the country. Why? I don't know.
LOLS.
I think its simply the fact that remote places (like Linantuyan), especially those in the mountains, spells "adventure" in bold letters and it offers a kind of challenge to me. I love living outside my comfort zone no matter how uncomfortable it is. Surpassing the challenge gives me a kind of fulfillment, a different kind of satisfaction. It develops my self-esteem and makes me look at myself more positively.

My summer of 2008 gave me the opportunity to do everything I love doing the most. I survived living in a place as far away from home as possible; a place where I don't have a single relative who will be there when I needed something. There, I met a lot of people from different walks of life, I went to places I could only (and sometimes did not even) imagine, I did things I didn't knew I could.
Whenever I feel unsure of myself, I always look back to all those times. I always tell myself that if I was able to face all those people and surpass all those things then I think I could also face whatever challenge that may come my way.
If there is one more thing that my experiences taught me, its that, there is always a way, you just have to know how to find it.
