My boardmates did something last night (actually it was already morning seeing that it was already 12am). It was something that made me think about demons and faith. I wouldn't say explicitly what they did, only that, in my Christian upbringing, it was something considered evil. More evil than pre-marital sex.
But this I say, never attempt to do anything you don't understand especially if it is something that could endanger you spiritually. I don't believe in ghosts but I believe in demons. I believe demons are real and they are around us, waiting for somebody to summon them. I believe that demons are vain beings, always wanted to be noticed, always wanted to be acknowledge.
They can play with you without you knowing it. And tempting them is foolish.
Rituals and games attempting to summon 'spirits' may or may not work but the very act of summoning something just for fun is, I think, enough for these entities to make their presence felt.
Demons are tricksters. They can tell you a pack of lies disguised as truths. They can scare you or befriend you. And they are real--or at least if you are reading the Bible.
Playing gospel songs and repeating memorized prayers are not enough to banish something you have summoned. It is not enough to pray 'Our Father' a million times to drive demons away, especially if your faith is not strong from the start. As the scriptures says, "even demons believe in God and shudders at the sound of His name."
Personally, I think, whether your faith is strong or not, playing with the devil is dangerous. Besides, if your faith is strong you will never attempt doing it because if you believe and trust in the power of God, you also know and believe in the power of the devil.
And what about you? Do you believe in demons?
