A pack of lies.

I'm researching for the History of the New People's Army for my Magazine article and I came across this page (found in the Philippine Revolution Web Central) and can't help but comment on it.

The Article is entitled, BHB Tunay na Hukbo ng Mamamayang Pilipino! Sa awit, Kwento at Tula. The Following is an excerpt:
The NPA is in close ties and lives its everyday life with the masses. The NPA is the masses' confidante with regard to problems, and respects their culture, sensibilities and property. The NPA is also the people's partner and teacher in politics, education and culture, and together they nurture the people's health and care for the environment.

Froglet comments:
===C'mon. Respect their culture, sensibilities and properties. Yeah, they really do. They will simply burn your property, threaten you and get whatever they could from you if you don't help them. For them, respect is synonymous to grave threat. Perfect.
Thus, the masses love and cherish the NPA. They continuously join the People's army; they voluntarily care for and provide the army, which they have embraced, with shelter, clothes, food, ammunition, office supplies and other needs. They efficiently conduct intelligence work, participate in social investigation, help in organizing and in other aspects of the army's work. Because the ever-strengthening partnership of the NPA and the people, economic struggles are won, controversial social issues are addressed, the revolutionary mass base expands and tactical offensives succeed.

Froglet comments:
=== Love and cherish? No. Only those they could manage to fool. But those who have seen them behind their mask and have experienced first-hand how good they are in breaking promises and manipulating people never cherished them. A lot of people in the hinterlands, their so-called masses, resents their presence but because they are only lowly farmers, they prefer to keep silent and pretend that they like the NPA.

=== Voluntarily provides? You mean, giving under duress is voluntary? Who wouldn't voluntarily give if you are figuratively and (sometimes) literally held at gun point? If your family is under threat of death, wouldn't you voluntarily give? Would you prefer to have your properties burned instead? I think anybody whose carrying a high-powered firearm will be embraced with shelter, foods, clothes and heaven and hell if the lowly folks could give it but it would be out of fear not out of love.

Do we want to continue believing in their lies? In these lies?
If we love our freedom so much, as what we always profess, then let's start standing up against the real tyrants of this country.
