a day at the zoo.

I know, and don't tell me I never acknowledged it, in my 22 years I've only been to the zoo two or three times. It's mainly because I never really like seeing those creatures in cages where everybody ogles at them. I,of course am not a hypocrite who would deny that I am enjoying the chance of getting near animals that I would otherwise never see in person if not for zoos. So there. Now here are some of the photos we took at the zoo yesterday.

these are of course the photos from the Oceanarium where I saw the most pitiful bunch of turtles inside the ugliest pool I've ever seen. And here are some from Father Tropa's Zoo....

and this cutie snake here is named Baby Boy. Kept at the zoo's Museum of Natural History, Baby Boy is the only living exhibit there.

Speaking of exhibit, among the exhibits there are the three most bizarre creatures I've ever seen in the world: a two-headed carabao, an eight-legged goat and a one-eyed pig. Trust me, it does look weird. The one-eyed pig looks scary.

And like the Oceanarium, I did enjoy the time I spent with those creatures but I also wish that they can be free just as how it was supposed to be. If they can't be set free, then I wish that the government would take notice and throw in some money to improve the facilities for them.

On the other hand, I do realize that with the condition of the environment right now it would be more dangerous for them to be set free. I guess sometimes I have to accept the fact that because of the abuses nature has suffered, being held captive is better than let them die of starvation in the wilds.

I wish someday these creatures could go back to where they're supposed to be. That would be a very far someday with only 50% possibility. But still... I wish.
