more than i love filipino films

you can call me whatever you want but i love Hindu films more than Filipino ones. sure, reading the subtitles and watching the movie can be bothersome at times but i would rather be bothered by them than watch tagalog films.

why? i don't know.

probably because i think hindu films have more substance and better cinematography than their filipino counterpart. or could it be because most of the ones i watched have themes that goes with my beliefs. probably because i like their song and dance numbers. or possibly i like the learning about other cultures even if i only get to see a bit of it.

i don't know. really.

there are a lot of good filipino movies of course but none of them captures my interest as much as these Hindu films has captured it. cinematography aside, the plots and themes are good. storylines actually have a story in it. the movies have substance and timeless. and they don't rely on sex scenes and dirty jokes either.

hindu movies gives us a glimpse of the indian culture. it also proves my belief that a movie does not need sex jokes and sex scenes so people would watch it. think of Gajini and the 3 idiots, did you see any sex scenes in there?  both were box office hits and acclaimed not only in india but in various countries around the world.

indian movies are funny but not in a stupid kind of way, unlike most filipino comedies. they have song and dance numbers, that used to litter old filipino movies, but it did not make the movie cheap. their music is actually part of the story and gives more life to the movie. most filipino films with these song and dance numbers chose songs that do not even correlate with the movie's theme. basta may kanta lang.


really. indian movies are superior in a lot of ways to filipino movies. there are only a few filipino movies that you would want to watch over and over again.

just saying.

i just didn't get it.

ok, so i watched this movie called Super 8 and i just didn't get it.

first of all, why Super 8? I was counting the important characters and they don't seem to add up to 8. and secondly, there was nothing super about it.

i kind of like the thrill during the train crash scene but that was it. as in, that was really it. that was all the thrilling part. the rest? i don't know. i didn't get it.

it really made me wish that i just waited until 5:30 for XMEN...now i have to spend double for watching a movie that... well...i don't know how to describe it... words escape me... i am so speechless.

i'm wondering if someone could actually explain that movie to me. i mean, i know its one of those conspiracy theory themed movie but... did anyone actually get it? because i did not. really.

i'm not saying that the movie was dumb. its just that, i felt dumb for watching it. i can't get over the fact that i didn't get it. probably have to watch it again.

sometimes IT IS awkward.

sometimes it does feel awkward to know that there are people you know who reads your blog. it does feel like someone reading your diary, albeit an online one.

but then again, what's the point of keeping the blog right? it is online anyway and that means anyone has the right to read it.

i doesn't really affect me that much but it just makes me blush and review everything i've written here whenever i find out that someone i know is reading this blog. makes me wonder if there is something i've written here that may have pointed to them or if there is, was it something that could still make me look them in the eyes? i hope so.

i admit that i do post too personal stuff here at time (probably all the time). reading them back sometimes makes me feel like an idiot but i don't dare remove them because...uhm...frankly, i don't know why i don't remove those embarrassing "five-minute-love-affair" like posts. i seem to have dropped a lot of hints there that if the person concerned ever read those... well, let's just say i hope we don't see each other again.

so why am i posting this? uhm...nothing really. i'm waiting for SUPER8 to start and i won't be allowed inside until 12:30... as for XMEN...if i still have the stamina, i'll watch it 5:30.lols.
