one of my personal goals for 2012 is to look at Bacolod and Negros Occidental in a new light. i want to be able to see the beauty that tourists see when they come here. having stayed in this province almost my entire life, i find the place boring and i find it hard to endorse it to people when they ask me about my province.
well, that will have to change. my goal for 2012 is to appreciate Negros and try to capture its beauty.

the mambukal adventure.

with sweat all over my face and my shirt already clinging to my body, I continued to hike with one goal in mind: to the reach the 6th falls.
Actually I was aiming for the 7th but with the recent rock slides in the area, going to Mambukal's 7th falls is prohibited at the moment. Although I reached the 6th falls, I was only able to see five waterfalls, the 4th waterfall is inaccessible because of the rockslides.
and after a tiring walk, a hearty meal and fun photo moments, I'm sitting here at the resort's Butterfly Garden enjoying the view and listening to the gushing water of the river. God, thank you for this piece of heaven.

Ok, i'm ranting here but I know most of you doesn't know what I'm talking about. So let me backtrack a little.
I've always wanted to get out of the city and spend a day with nature, my notebook and my camera. So last Sunday I decided to go to Mambukal Resort on my rest day.
Just a little background: Mambukal is a highland resort located at Bgy Minoyan, Murcia, Negros occidental. It's less than an hour ride from Bacolod (not counting the time spent waiting for the jeep to leave of course). It has a lot of amenities and a good place to go for people who likes silence and nature walks.
Ok, so here I am now with my heart beating so loud, my leg muscles screaming and a feeling of fulfillment. I got what I want and this makes me happy!

I was able to take more photos but my connection is so slow it takes an hour to upload photos.
