Official Press Statement
Yes, love is in the air.
If only people will find the time to love everyday of their lives and not just on February 14, then this world will be a better place to live in.
Valentines is such a boring and tiring day for me not because I don’t have somebody to share it with but because it’s really boring to see endless parades of people wearing the same color. They are like members of some satanic cult, out to profess their religion.
Besides, I hate red and pink. I also hate that stupid winged diaper-wearing little boy carrying a little bow and arrows. Of course, I also don’t like flowers and little hearts which happens to flood the streets on this overly commercialized day.
And yes, speaking of overly commercialized, Valentines Day is really hyper commercialized. I mean its all business actually. Really, you only have to look at the over flooding of hearts and pink and fluffy things in department stores plus the overly emphasized greetings and you’ll realize that this day is nothing but one big business holiday.
But of course, “to each his own”. So it’s really up to you if you want to spend your treasures for one boring day. Go ahead, spend all your money; buy dozens of flowers that would have looked better if people would leave them alone and allow them to grow instead of cutting them and letting them die.
Personally, I think spending on Valentine’s Day is quite useless. If people would express their love everyday then there would be no need to overspend every Feb 14. I mean, everyday should be a special day and not just Feb 14.
And Puh-lease, stop asking if you see people not wearing red on Feb 14 because there is no law in the world that requires people to wear red on Valentines Day. Besides, who told you that Red is really the color of love?
Another thing, please stop cutting those flowers because you think it would look better on your side table. Oh come on! I don’t like flowers because I am allergic to it but I don’t like seeing them wilting and dying in someone else’s side table. They sure look nice to at if they are left alone. (Funny, but people who “loves” flowers cuts them and lets them die instead. I mean, do you like the flower because it looks nice or do you just love seeing it die?)
And because I had already stated my opinion on this matter, let me leave a message to each one of you. I don’t like celebrating Valentines Day not because I hate it but because everyday for me is Valentines Day. There is really no need for me to wear red (because I don’t like the color) or buy cutsie-tootsie hearts because this day really has no worth for me.
It is enough that we love the people around us everyday of our lives. Yes, actions speaks louder than words but we don’t need to wait for Feb 14 to show the people around us they are special. Let us make them feel special everyday not with expensive gifts but genuine love and care.
You don’t need to spend to show the person you love how you feel. They say, it’s the thought that counts. And yes, I happen to agree with that. A simple hug, a simple smile, a simple action of love is enough.
To all of you who celebrates this day, Happy Valentine’s Day!
