Bata lang ang nag-iisip that growing up is fun. Duh!
"Growing up" means having responsibilities that sometimes you are not prepared to handle. It means not doing the things that brought you happiness as a child. It means facing things that you'd rather not know about.
Sometimes I think to grow up is to take the fun out of life. When you are a "grown up" people expects you to be serious and RESPONSIBLE. When you try to have fun they would call you, isip bata or childish.
I used to think that to grow up is to enjoy life. Now I am not sure.
When I was young I used to wish that I'd grow up fast so I could do whatever I want. Now I know "growing up" is not all about doing what you want but doing what you have to. Sometimes its also doing what others expect anybody your age to do.
Grown ups don't play hide and seek, they can't play tag, they are not supposed to watch cartoons and other "children" shows. People raise their eyebrows when you eat lollipop, play in the sun, and run around. You have to behave like a real grown up, walk like a grown up, talk like a grown up, eat like a grown up and watch shows that are for grown ups.
Imagine life if all of us are grown ups?
