DAVAO CITY— The New People's Army owned the killing of Evelyn Pitao, a sister of its leader Leoncio Pitao, alias Commander Parago, an admission that according to the military was not surprising but troubling.
The Merardo Arce Command-Southern Mindanao Regional Operations Command of the NPA, in a statement emailed to the Inquirer, said the Ka Paking Guimbaolibot Red Partisan Brigade “implemented the capital punishment on the basis of the decision reached by the revolutionary people’s court in February 2009.”
The militant human rights group Karapatan reported in Manila last week that Evelyn was killed by unidentified men in Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte, on May 23.
Rigoberto Sanchez, spokesperson of the Merardo Arce Command, said the order to execute Evelyn came following a review and decision to include her in the “people’s court” by the Communist Party of the Philippines’ Southern Mindanao Regional Party.
“This after an extensive and meticulous investigation has established without any tinge of doubt her direct and clear complicity in three state-instigated political crimes against the people and the revolutionary movement,” Sanchez said. Read more.
Imagine that?! Just weeks ago grabe yung mga accusations nila sa Phil. Army particularly sa 10th ID and now what? Ni hindi man lang sila nag-apologize for accusing the army of killing of Evelyn Pitao. Ganyan naman talaga di ba? Ang bilis mag accuse but ang bagal mag apologize and knowing them? I'm sure they'll never apologize.

I seldom watch TV especially pag wala ako sa bahay. Nakakasawa na talaga ang Kho-halili issue...and so are those campaign ads!
