reset factory settings

one of my phone's applications encountered an error and created a domino effect that resulted to me using the emergency button (a.k.a reset to factory settings option). well, as can be expected everything went back to default and all my files, applications, contacts and all settings i have customized are gone.

this post is not about the phone though.

as i was "fixing" my settings to something that resembles order, i began to wonder how life would be like if we were given the option to reset factory settings. imagine how it would feel like if we made a mistake that screwed us so bad we no longer know the difference between up and down and instead of drowning in sorrow, we can instead reset our life back to what it was and correct everything again.

how nice it would be if all of us would be given the chance to correct everything again. but then, if life has a reset button, everyone will just take everything for granted. we will all be complacent because we know no matter what mistake we make, we can all go back to what it was and fix everything again. we will no longer think about consequences and accountability. i guess life would be more chaotic if all of us would rely on a reset button.

but honestly, there are things i wish i can simply reset and fix. if i can only do that then i know i can make a lot of people happy. but since i cannot, i will have to contend myself in facing the consequences of my actions.
