The Fork In The Road

Are you the type of person who follows your heart? Or are you the type who spends energy and time over-analyzing an option before you decide?

I am more of the latter.

I am not the kind of person who follows my heart. I am more practical and I have the tendency to choose something that usually ends up hurting me or hurting someone I love. I spend a lot of time analyzing my options and weighing things. I always believe in the consequences of actions we take. I have decided long ago that I am not going to do something unless I am 100% sure I can face the consequences of it. I know how easy it is to choose the easiest way out when you are in a tight spot but if you think of the consequences, it is usually the hardest options that offers the best solution.

There had been rare times when I followed my heart and the consequences were always something more difficult than if I just followed what I think is the right solution.

These days are one of those days when I get confused between what I know is good and what I feel is good. The rare times when my emotions confuse me and muddles my mind. From my experience, these days are not the best days to make decisions. So I am not going to make a choice. For now, I will wait and see what happens next. In the meantime, I will think of a fallback if and when the time comes that I have to make the choice and things doesn't go right.

I can only pray that I make the right choice in the end. Then again, as life has often taught me, you will only know if you made the right decision or not when you are already facing the consequences of it. So when the time comes, I will make my decision based on the possible consequences and hope for the best.
